Perfect Pink: Dior Palette Review

As if it hasn’t been made obvious by my previous posts, I am definitely a girly girl with a taste for all heart shaped and pink. One would think that this includes my make up. However, I was going through my collection and realized that I mainly have shades of only silver, brown and blue. Some under used palettes of mine have a purple here and there, but no pink! Well, that obviously needed to change.
I decided to take a plunge and purchase a completely out of my price range five color palette by Dior. It was a moment of weakness, but these feminine colors for $59 called out to me and I couldn’t resist.
As described by Sephora, the palette includes:
- Creamy, blendable base
- Versatile iridescent eyeshadow
- Satiny contouring shade
- Shimmering highlighter
- Sultry, intensely matte eyeliner
- 2 double-ended applicators
The colors are definitely blendable and beautiful, to say the least. Here are some swatches, both wet and dry. Each swatch was applied to my forearm with my finger, not a brush or q-tip.
Review: Lancome’s Le Crayon Khol

I’m always in need of a good pencil eyeliner (who isn’t?). But unfortunately, I’ve never really been able to find one that truly stays put all day long. So instead of browsing the drugstore as I usually do, I decided to splurge and purchase the $25 Lancome Crayon Khol in Black Coffee (mine is pictured on left).
Let me preface by stating that I purchased this product in October. So I’ve been giving it a lot of time, applying it in different ways, and using different techniques. Now, for $25 (TWENTY FIVE DOLLARS!!!) I expected this to be the end all, be all eyeliner. The Queen of eyeliners. The never smudge, never fade, always perfect liner I’ve been looking for! Sadly, my expectations were not met.
Racoon Eyes? Check. Even when it’s 35 degree outside? Yup. It has to at least stay on for a couple of hours, right? Wrong. It starts to melt off within the first two hours of application. I’m not kidding.

Review: Mineral Girl

I am definitely a mineral makeup loyalist, but that doesn’t mean I only wear Bare Minerals! Recently, I was tempted by Estee Lauder’s Doublewear Mineral Makeup.
Here’s my two-cents:
The formula is silky smooth, and feels creamy after application which is great, especially in the winter. I apply it with a regular powder blush all over just after applying my cover up. It definitely doesn’t stay for 12 full hours if I apply with just the powder brush, so I make sure to use the applicator it comes with for added staying power. The semi-matte finish doesn’t settle into fine lines, and overall I am left with a natural, fresh looking face. I love, love, love it!

Thoughts? Are you over the mineral makeup trend, and if not, would you try Estee Lauder’s mineral makeup?
