Hey, hey, Happy Thursday!

So I know I just wrote about how I really shouldn’t spend any money, but I got an extra paycheck today and decided to treat myself to a little gift! I’m so terrible, I know…

A little background: I usually carry around my employee ID and metrocard in a small, easily accessible Dooney & Bourke card holder (pictured left). My regular wallet was too big to fumble around with in a public place, and I switched purses so often that I would accidentally leave my metrocard behind. Having to buy several different metrocards and not knowing which ones had money on them? Not fun at all.

This Monday morning I swiped into the train like a normal day, but when I got to work I saw that my card holder was missing. I was devastated, and completely annoyed thinking that someone had potentially swiped it from my purse’s front pocket. I sucked it up and told myself to not worry about ever seeing it again.

To my complete surprise, someone found it on the train and got in touch with me! She was kind enough to send it to me and I received it in the mail last night. (And of course I sent her back a thank you card, as well as a $25 Visa gift card to show my gratitude).

Though I was and still am extremely thankful for the return of my id and metrocards, the thought of my cardholder being on the subway floor disgusted me so much that I honestly couldn’t bring myself to continue using it. So, of course, I went shopping.

I treated myself to this super adorable May Radley “Hound Dog” (Elvis lover and proud) mini zip around wallet (right). It’s so cute, and has an id holder in the back which is perfect for gaining easy access to the office! The zip around mini wallet is also tiny enough to be taken out for a quick latte in the middle of the day, and has several card slots inside of it’s smooth leather exterior.

I know it’s a little old lady-ish (lol!) but I really couldn’t help it! I love it so much! 

What do you think? Is it a little too “grandma” or the prefect amount of trendy?
