Ask Me Anything

I’ve lost many stilettos to over-wear. The sad heels I’ve had to retire live in my parents’ garage, waiting for me to take them to a cobbler where they might be repaired and see another day with my tiny little feet.
Unfortunately, there is no magic potion to prevent wearing down heels. The best prevention is rotation: although we’re all accustomed to a particular pair of heels, wearing them every day can be extraordinarily taxing on the heel itself. By buying similar pairs of heels, you give each one a break and extend their lives in your wardrobe.
Additionally, if you work in the city and take public transportation/do heavy walking, grab some flats! Walking in heels when you’re still waking up, or walking home from a long 9 to 5 can be uncomfortable and just plain terrible for your stilettos. Give them a break! Put them in a tote, or reuse a paper bag during your commute.
If you just can’t let go of a long lost pair, google your nearest cobbler! Rates are fairly reasonable depending on where you live— I paid only $20 for my suede boots to be repaired last winter. They reemerged looking and feeling brand spakin new.
