When it comes to skin care, I am very particular. For most of my life I had terrible eczema and couldn’t use many drugstore brands. My skin was always dry, especially on my face. Now that I am older, my eczema is (thankfully) completely under control. Now I have to be careful not to over moisturize, for fear that it will cause breakouts.

I research every product before I purchase it, trying to see if it has any patents or if it has won any awards. And I won’t spend my money on anything expensive unless I know it’s worth every penny. These are my current favorite products that have made the cut:

I’m always a fan of anything that can be used in more ways than one, and Vaseline is perfect for not only my chapped lips, but also for removing my stubborn eye makeup.  

I never fully understood how easy it was so get rid of my blackheads until I discovered the Deep Clean Cream Cleanser. I wash my face with this cleanser every evening to rid of all the impurities that build up on my face throughout the day. When I have really stubborn blackheads, I’ll leave the cleanser on problem spots for about 1 minute before washing off. It works every time! See my full review here.

I can honestly say that I’ve never found a moisturizer that smooths my skin perfectly in a drug store. When I splurged on Dior’s Hydra Life Sorbet Creme, it was completely worth it. See my full review here.

Whenever I have a stubborn pimple or two, the Acne Spot Treatment makes sure it is completely gone as soon as possible. I’ll put it on after I cleanse my face in the morning and see improvement by the time I cleanse my face at night. By day 3, my skin is completely clear. Talk about a magical treatment!

When I had eczema, it was mainly under my eyes. This left me with dark circles that have plagued me since I was 10. Estee Lauder’s Advanced Night Eye Repair was a finalist in the CEW Awards 2011, already helping prove it’s worth. The serum can be applied both day and night, and has helped lighten by dark circles in addition to smoothing away fine lines.
