Perfect Pink: Dior Palette Review

As if it hasn’t been made obvious by my previous posts, I am definitely a girly girl with a taste for all heart shaped and pink. One would think that this includes my make up. However, I was going through my collection and realized that I mainly have shades of only silver, brown and blue. Some under used palettes of mine have a purple here and there, but no pink! Well, that obviously needed to change.
I decided to take a plunge and purchase a completely out of my price range five color palette by Dior. It was a moment of weakness, but these feminine colors for $59 called out to me and I couldn’t resist.
As described by Sephora, the palette includes:
- Creamy, blendable base
- Versatile iridescent eyeshadow
- Satiny contouring shade
- Shimmering highlighter
- Sultry, intensely matte eyeliner
- 2 double-ended applicators
The colors are definitely blendable and beautiful, to say the least. Here are some swatches, both wet and dry. Each swatch was applied to my forearm with my finger, not a brush or q-tip.

I love this palette because of its versatility. The pinks are a great, casual look for the day. And the purple is sultry and a great shade for the evening. I prefer to apply all of the colors wet because of the glitter in each of them. Without the water there to pick up the glitter and keep it together, I noticed that the color faded a little quicker than when applied wet.
Here is my day time look with this palette:

I applied the light pink to the inner corner, and blended the darker pink along my lid. Then, I used the highlighter underneath my eyebrow and in the very corner my eye for an added sparkle. I didn’t use the liner from the palette in this look, but I will say that it is a very nice gel liner.
For evening, I used the purple and highlighter from this palette and combined it with a silver for a fun but intense look:

For this look (sorry there is no close up) I applied a silver to the inner corners and blended the purple in with my finger tip. To make sure the color stayed I applied both of the glitter-heavy shadows wet. I used the same highlighter from the palette, and also filled in a shimmery champagne color between my brow and my lid. Once again, I didn’t use the liner from the palette.
Overall Review: I must say that I definitely wouldn’t wear all of the colors together at once. Pink and purple are nice by themselves, but there is definitely such a thing as too much. The colors are really great and they do last all day (or night). This palette is definitely a great investment if you have $59 to spare! If not, I’m almost positive that a drugstore palette would have sufficed.

Hope you liked this review, beauties! Do YOU have a favorite eyeshadow palette?
