Truth: I Have Split Ends

While I was home in California, I spent a lot of time with my 9 year old sister. She doesn’t care much for getting her hair done, but was very intrigued when I told her about my split ends. She had no idea what I was talking about.

I figured I would give her an example not from my hair, but from hers. She has very thin, extremely long hair, therefore she must have split ends, right? Wrong. I combed through it, down to the ends only to see that I was wrong: zero split ends. What?! I feel like I take much better care of my hair than she does. Why do I have so many and she has none?

I think about it and break down my hair routine: On a daily basis I blow dry. On a weekly basis I curl, maybe do an up-do, braid, etc. And only on a yearly basis do I get a cut (with trims here and there). So perhaps my ridiculous amount of split ends actually makes sense. No matter how many compliments I get on my hair, at the end of the day this girl has some serious split ends.

Enter Pantene’s Split End Repair. It binds all current split ends and, with continued use, can rid of split ends all together. Sound to good to be true? Only time will tell. I’ve been using this every other day for the past 3 months, and so far I’m liking what I see. When I comb through my hair, I notice a great amount of former split ends that have indeed been bound together as the product promises.

The pomade-like consistency is best applied, in my opinion, to wet hair a couple minutes after towel drying. Whenever I apply on my dry hair in between washes, I find that it feels too sticky, adding weight down to my normally bouncy mane. Additionally, the price is pretty wonderful. Only $6 for a product that definitely has lasting power? Yes, please.

I’m always a fan of a quality product at a bargain price that does exactly what it promises it will do. And the Split End Repair is the definition of just that: it works, it’s cheap, and I love it.

Oh, Pantene, you make me swoon with delight. Now if you could only bring back my beloved Ice Shine.

That’s all for today, beauties! Have a wonderful rest of the day, and as always…
